(Note: if you missed Part 1 of What Are The Secrets To Self-transformation for Personal Success? please click here now to be taken to the article.)
Do you make changes in your life from the outside in?
You will discover that it usually leads nowhere for the changes are only temporary. In order to make positive and long-lasting changes in your life, however, you must do the work. The work I have in mind is to create change from the inside out…
The mistake that most people make is to look for changes in their external environment first. However, it is the changes that you make within that will be expressed without.
For this purpose, I want you to consider the various changes you have made and experienced in your life to date. Were these changes mainly the result of your desire for change? It first came from an idea you had within which materialized on the physical plane.
Self-transformation for personal success is an internal job which requires you to increase your self-awareness, self-belief, self-care, self-compassion, self-love and self-discipline.
It is important to remember that you are at the centre of change.
I know what you might be thinking: that if you were to look within there would be so much for you to deal with and it scares you. However, the good news is that this exercise serves the purpose of growing in self-awareness, identifying your multitude of habits and letting go of the habits which are non-supportive in terms of personal success.
For example, if you desire to create more balance in your life and you struggle with ‘saying no’ when there is a demand on your time you must recognise that there is a conflict between what you want, more balance, and your attitude. As a result, you might want to consider:
On this subject, I remember watching a video with Oprah Winfrey where she shared how she found it very difficult in the past to ‘say no’. As a people-pleaser she felt she had to ‘say yes’ to every request she received. Until the day she realized that it wasn’t the case, she didn’t have to ‘say yes’ to everything. In fact, when she said ‘yes’ to every request it took up a lot of her time and she became resentful. Her reaction was: “Why did I say yes to this thing…?” Oprah Winfrey realized that her time was precious and that she ought to ‘say yes’ to only the things she was happy with and enjoyed.
Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world. Oprah Winfrey had to look within in order to find out what was really going on with her inability to ‘say no’ in the past.
When you take the time to look within you increase your self-honesty and compassion. Both are important in order to recognize that It is O.K. to make mistakes, for without them you do not move forward, learn and grow.
Additionally, when you allow yourself to look within you choose to live your life more authentically. Here are the 7 ways you can live your life more authentically:
As you get to know yourself more you are increasingly capable of handling life’s challenges and returning to a state of balance much faster.
You are perhaps aware that you have fallen into a particular pattern in some areas of your life and you find it difficult to break through.
This could be an area of your health for example: you used to be very fit and healthy with a weekly exercise routine, healthy nutrition. However, you have now fallen into a pattern whereby you have stopped completely doing the healthy stuff. I am sure you know what I mean: you have neglected your keep fit routine, you no longer care so much about what you eat however you are aware you have been eating healthily and you do not keep your body hydrated daily. As a result, your energy level is low, you ache everywhere and to some extent you have lost a little of self-confidence.
Secret #5 to self-transformation for personal success is to break through the unwanted patterns, the non-supportive habits and to introduce new habits that are more congruent with the transformation that you desire.
For this purpose, I recommend that you start visualizing your end in mind, the outcome or result you desire to achieve and to start introducing new habits step by step. Old habits or paradigms can always be changed by new and successful ones.
I want you to take some time to both become aware and recognize particular and undesirable patterns/habits or paradigms you have fallen into so that you can make the decision today to break them and start afresh.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said that:
“What lies behind you and what lies in front of you pales in comparison to
what lies inside of you.”
This serves the purpose of reminding you of your own personal power. Your potential self is infinite and I invite you, therefore, to recognize your brilliance, your inner diamond, which is unique to you.
Ultimately what I define as personal success: is your ability to allow your inner diamond to shine brightly. It’s the way you choose to show up as your best self and to express your uniqueness and unique gifts.
This last stage of self-transformation for personal success; letting your inner diamond shine, requires a high level of self-responsibility and self-awareness. Indeed, the more you discover yourself the more you are able to let your inner diamond shine. One way you can start is to dedicate some time to self-improvement by asking important questions about who you are as a person and what matters to you the most.
Each time you step out of your comfort zone and choose to strive you let your inner diamond shine brighter. Each time you choose to grow and evolve you allow your inner diamond to shine brighter.
As you embark on the path of personal success what you are seeking is to allow your inner diamond to shine brightly. It is our duty to be better human beings every day. All it takes is a decision and to show up as your best self. The balance lies in the fact that you do not compromise on your integrity because you always make the effort to show up as your best self.
