Discover the 21 signs that you are living a purposeful life.
You may know my story that in my mid-thirties I was on a quest to discover my life’s purpose. I was going through a period of existential angst; I felt so unhappy, discontented and unfulfilled. Moreover, I felt lost, unclear and disconnected to the world around me even though I seemed happy on the outside. In fact, I believed deep in my heart that there was more to life than what my life was back then. I wanted to give my present-day existence more meaning and I discovered my life's purpose when I devoted time to uncover it.
Do you find it hard to discover your life’s purpose?
If so, in this blog article you are going to discover the 21 signs that you are living a purposeful life.
In this blog article I pay homage to Mother Teresa's poem on celebrating and honoring life.
Mother Teresa’s poem reminds you that life loves you and how important it is to live in the now moment by moment.
This is something I used to struggle with. I used to project myself into the future all the time instead of living and appreciating the present moment. Should you do the same; focusing too much on the future, you do not appreciate the present moment fully enough and I believe that a balance is necessary.
Or you might be someone who is stuck in the past and you constantly return to the past thinking about what was or what could have been? This is a problem because you do not appreciate the present moment by moment since you are stuck on past memories you cannot change or on what was or could have been.
Mother Teresa's poem is a reminder to be grateful for what is, for each day of your life and to celebrate the present moment by moment.
You can do this.
You are reading this article because you have reached the point where you are tired of self-sabotaging and saying ‘No!’ to love and to the life that you truly desire.
As you know I wrote the #1 bestseller YES! TO Love™ – The Ultimate Guide to Personal Transformation For Everyday Life Balance. In this book I share with you how to live a life of love by improving your relationship with yourself and others through love.
In this light, I invite you to stop self-sabotaging and to start reclaiming your power in order to find more joy and to live a life of love as you apply the following 5 tips for success.
Where are you right now in the following areas of your life?
On a scale of 1-10 (1 being imbalanced, 10 being balanced) how do you show up in the following areas of your life:
I congratulate you should you score be 7/10 in most areas. Should you score be...
The truth about life is that you are forever running against the current when you either contemplate the past and the future or ignore the present moment.
However, the more you ignore the present moment the more you distance yourself from ‘being joy’. I would describe ‘being joy’ as the highest state of being that is true to you, that makes you simply happy, like a natural state of ecstasy.
There is no separation between ‘being joy’ and your personality traits. Therefore, 'being joy' means that you choose to deepen your relationship with yourself.
For this reason, living your life on purpose is essential for: “Where there is no purpose there is no joy.”
This is something I experienced in my mid 30’s when I questioned the meaning of my life. I felt lost, empty, unclear and disconnected from the world. I asked God: “Why am I here?” I did not feel complete, fulfilled, whole, happy and content despite the fact that I had...
I am doing something totally different this week. This blog article is more like a poem or a meditation for self-reflection.
The fundamental principle to live your life authentically is to TRUST. When you trust your heart is wide open and you surrender fully.
Here is the meditative process to live your life authentically:
Please sit comfortably in a quiet place and take a few deep breaths in through your nose and slowly out through your mouth or nose.
Become aware of your body and let go of any sensation that feels uncomfortable by saying, for example: “I let go of the sensation I feel in my arms and I smile…” Keep doing this until your body really feels lighter and you feel at ease.
Now begin the 3-step meditation for self-reflection keeping your eyes closed:
Step 1: “I trust myself” – meditate on the following:
“As I look at myself in the mirror, I love what I see and all that I am.
I trust my inner voice, my intuition and my gut feeling...
Many women are mothers, wives, sisters, daughters and professionals. Playing all of these different roles can be overwhelming at times and might mean that self-care gets neglected!
A mother of two children told me recently: “You know, Pascale, I feel so overwhelmed by my work load at home that I have reached the point where I wonder if I could cope any longer. I think I am close to reaching breaking point.” She knows deep inside that change is needed or she is heading towards burnout. She has been overstretching for too long, and this is causing her physical and emotional stress.
I wrote two articles on burnout you can access:
It is very important to recognize early if you tend to overstretch yourself and you are about to reach exhaustion point.
In order for women to feel empowered it is increasingly crucial that they find inner balance and harmony. To this end, if you feel...
I wish you a Happy Easter!
I love this time of year because spring is in the air!
"I was completely exhausted...": she said. "The doctor told me I had to stop work for 6 months and if I wanted to return to the same job it would have to be part-time."
"What happened Beth?": I asked.
"My doctor's diagnosis was burn out. I could not function any more. I had no energy, I was living like a zombie, I felt totally numb and empty, and I had lost touch with who I am," she replied.
As a mother of 2 children and Patrick's wife, Beth had given her whole self to her family. She was the epitome of love that gives: she dedicated her whole life to her children and her husband. However, she was consumed by too much doing and not enough being.
Beth had another problem, she was a people pleaser; she could not say "no" even when she felt like saying "no". She wanted to please everyone and to disappoint no-one. Whenever she put her heart into something she had to give 110%. Therefore, her perfectionism also meant that she could not say "no". Everything had to be perfect, she...
